兵庫・甲子園口の日本料理店「啝心 DAIA」の店舗デザイン・店舗設計を担当した。
閑静な住宅街に佇む、重厚なコンクリートの外観。その先に続く細長いアプローチを抜けることで、街の日常から店内の非日常へと意識が切り替わる構成とした。
店内の中心には、長さ約5.5mの天然木一枚板によるカウンターを据えた。わずか8席の空間において、このカウンターを象徴的な存在として際立たせるため、カウンター上部の天井高を抑え、格子天井を設けた。視線を自然に中央へ導きながら、日本料理店としての格式と緊張感を生み出している。
仕上げは、モルタルと白木を中心に構成し、素材そのものの表情を活かしながら過度な装飾を抑えた。無機質なモルタルの静けさと、白木の柔らかな温もりを対比させることで、落ち着きの中にも奥行きのある空間をつくり出した。
料理人の所作、器、料理、素材、光。それぞれが過度に主張することなく調和し、ゲストが静かに料理と向き合えることを目指した。
日常から一歩離れ、心から和める時間を包み込む日本料理店である。

We were responsible for the interior and spatial design of Washin DAIA, a Japanese restaurant located in Koshienguchi, Hyogo.
Set within a quiet residential neighborhood, the restaurant is defined by its solid concrete exterior. A long, narrow approach leads guests gradually away from the everyday streetscape and into a more intimate and composed interior experience.
At the center of the space is a symbolic 5.5-meter-long counter crafted from a single slab of natural wood. With only eight counter seats, the design was focused on giving this element a strong spatial presence. The ceiling above the counter was lowered and finished with a lattice structure, naturally drawing the eye toward the center while creating a sense of formality and restraint appropriate to Japanese cuisine.
The interior is composed primarily of mortar and light-toned wood, allowing the natural character of each material to remain visible. The quiet, mineral quality of the mortar contrasts with the warmth of the wood, creating a calm yet layered atmosphere.
The chef’s movements, tableware, food, materials, and light were carefully balanced so that no single element dominates the space. The aim was to create an environment where guests can quietly focus on the cuisine and experience a sense of ease away from the everyday.
